In 1997 I walked for 3 weeks with a friend, a guide and a horse-man + 3 horses in the mountains of Ladakh. These works were made on my return using maps from the area woven into paper rubbed with ochre earth collected on the journey. The pattern of the weave is mountain ranges, pushed into a bowl and set within various backgrounds of colour and texture - trying to reach back to the experience of deep blue skies and dark rock mountain walls.
